Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are dermal fillers? How do dermal fillers work?

    • Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable gels that replace lost volume or add subtle structure. HA is a substance naturally produced by your body.
    • These fillers are not permanent, as your body gradually breaks them down over 10-12 months, depending on various factors.

  • What is the downtime for dermal fillers?

    • Dermal filler injections require little to no downtime. You may experience some minor discomfort and swelling in the first few days to a week. Bruising is possible but typically fades within one to two weeks.

  • How long does dermal filler take to work?

    • Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, RHA/Redensity, Versa, and Restylane offer immediate results by defining and adding volume to specific facial areas.
    • It's common to experience some swelling during the first week after your appointment, which can give a puffy appearance—don't be alarmed.
    • If, after one week, you're still not satisfied with your results, please contact us, and we'll work with you to ensure you're happy with your outcome.

  • How long do lip injections last?

    • Lip filler injections typically last 6 to 12 months, depending on the type of filler used, your metabolism, and how much product is placed.
    • Some patients metabolize filler more quickly and may need a touch-up around 6 months, while others enjoy results closer to a year.

  • I just got my lips done and I hate how they look. What should I do?

    • It's common to experience some swelling or bruising for a week or two after your treatment.
    • If you're not satisfied with your appearance after one week, please contact us. We'll work with you to ensure you achieve the results you desire. Should you genuinely dislike the filler's appearance once the swelling has subsided, we can always dissolve it.
    BOOK YOUR FILLER
  • Can you dissolve filler?

    • Dermal fillers made with hyaluronic acid, including popular brands like Juvederm, RHA/Redensity, Versa, and Restylane, can be safely dissolved using an injection of hyaluronidase (Hylenex).
    • If you're not satisfied with the outcome of a previous filler treatment from another provider, we offer consultations to discuss dissolving the existing filler. We'll listen to your concerns and create a customized plan to help you achieve your desired results.
    BOOK YOUR FILLER
  • How long do biostimulators take to work?

    • Biostimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra differ from traditional dermal fillers. While traditional fillers primarily use Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Radiesse contains calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres, and Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). These biostimulators work by stimulating your body's natural collagen production
    • Collagen regeneration is a gradual process. Radiesse offers immediate volume, similar to HA fillers, but the full results become apparent after three months
    • Both Sculptra and Radiesse are effective in strengthening and restoring aging skin. They work to improve skin tightness, strength, and smoothness, with results lasting for years.
